Aoy Lachapelle, owner of the Rice Paddy of Marquette, is one of few people that will go down in history as being a walking angel. During the course of a year Aoy saves each and every dollar of gratuity along with donations from the community and uses the funds to purchase a year supply of food, books, shoes, and uniforms for less fortunate children in her home village outside of Bangkok, Thailand.

I have been granted an amazing opportunity to assist Aoy this upcoming March in her yearly fundraising efforts to her children. My photographer and I will be following Aoy and her husband on their yearly adventure where we will be documenting all the tears, smiles, and amazing human emotion that such a magnificent act of human kindness stirs up in the human soul.

We will be constructing a forty page photo book which will be sold inside The Rice Paddy and in the local community bookstores. All proceeds from the books sold in the many years ahead will be donated directly to the children.
